Nurture your customers

Your customers are your primary business asset and without them you are nothing.

Growing a business means growing your customer base and providing more for your existing customers.

Remember not to take any of your customers – old or new for granted.

One of the best ways of securing a new customer is to communicate with them regularly. The most simple, economical and measurable way is by using personalised direct mail. Ask potential customers if you can add them to your mailing or e-mail list.

Talk to your existing clients on the phone, in the supermarket, wherever you see them. Ask about their kids and how they are going. Make your client feel as though you are taking a real interest in them and not just from a business point of view. Keep notes about your clients and send cards, emails, texts or letters when the next round of potential or actual work is due. What about birthdays or other significant events in their or their immediate family’s lives?

These little things are remembered and are what your customers tell their family and friends.

Remember the best from of marketing and advertising is from a happy customer.

You might not make a "sale" every time but the impression you leave lasts a very long time.
